Scholarship Program

About

At Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO, we believe that every young person should have access to high-quality performing arts education, regardless of their financial circumstances. We understand that the cost of classes can be a barrier for some families, and we are committed to ensuring that no student is excluded from our programmes due to financial hardship.

That’s why we offer a limited number of scholarships each year to students aged 4-18 who demonstrate financial need and show dedication to their studies. These scholarships help cover class fees, with both full and partial awards available. Depending on funding, we also strive to offer additional support for show participation, costumes, and other expenses, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to take part fully.

Who Can Apply?
Scholarships are open to both new and current students at Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO. Applicants must show a commitment to attending classes regularly. Eligibility criteria are available upon enquiry, and all applications are handled confidentially.

How to Apply
We aim to keep the application process simple and supportive. To apply, students and their families complete a short application form, followed by an informal chat with our team. Applications are open year-round, and we encourage anyone in need of financial support to get in touch.

How Is the Scholarship Programme Funded?
Our scholarship programme is made possible through grants, donations, and fundraising efforts such as the Kiltwalk, where students, staff, and families come together to raise funds. Donations to our scholarship fund are always welcomed and directly help us support more students.

The Growing Need
Currently, scholarships support around 15% of our student population, and this number continues to grow each year. With the cost of living crisis making access to extracurricular activities even more challenging for many families, we are committed to expanding our scholarship programme to meet the increasing demand.

How You Can Help
If you would like to contribute to our scholarship fund and help more young people access performing arts education, please consider making a donation or partnering with us. Every contribution makes a difference in ensuring that talent, passion, and creativity are never held back by financial barriers.
