OUR STORY

Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO was founded in 2002 with a simple mission: to create a space where young people could explore their creativity, grow in confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the performing arts. Over the years, we’ve welcomed hundreds of students, providing opportunities that shape their futures—on stage and beyond.

Our journey has taken us through various locations around Glasgow, including Argyle Street and the Argyle Arcade, before truly finding a home on Bath Street in 2014, where we’ve flourished ever since. As we grew, so did our commitment to ensuring that the performing arts remain accessible to all. In 2015, we became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), securing our non-profit status and reinforcing our mission to remove financial barriers for young people with a passion for the arts.

Today, we remain a small, close-knit academy at the heart of Glasgow’s creative scene. Led by a team of working actors and musicians, our students gain hands-on experience and valuable industry insight. From performing on stage to exploring behind-the-scenes roles, we open doors to creative careers both in and beyond the spotlight. Whether they aspire to a future in the arts or simply want to build confidence and self-expression, we equip them with the tools to flourish.

But GAA is about more than just performance. We believe in nurturing individuals, fostering teamwork, and encouraging resilience. Our students leave not only with artistic ability but with greater communication, adaptability, and lifelong friendships. Whether they join us for fun, personal development, or to follow their dreams in the industry, we’re here to support them every step of the way.

This is where it starts. A place where creativity is nurtured, confidence is built, and every young person’s potential is celebrated.
