About the class
Our Production Classes offer young performers the opportunity to take part in full-scale productions, developing their stagecraft through practical, rehearsal-based training. Open to all young performers, not just existing GAA students, these classes provide an authentic insight into the production process and the life of a working actor.
Throughout the year, students can audition for a variety of productions, with age ranges tailored to each show. Whether starring in a hilarious Christmas Pantomime, a show-stopping Summer Musical, or one of our dynamic plays—ranging from comedies and dramas to contemporary works and even original student-devised pieces—every performer will experience the excitement of bringing a script to life on stage.
Under the guidance of industry professional directors, rehearsals focus on blocking, character development, choreography, and stagecraft, ensuring that students not only refine their performance skills but also learn how to work with lighting, sound, set, and props. Most productions are staged in our fully equipped Bath Street Studio Theatre, with some performances taking place in external venues too.
Rehearsals run once a week for three hours, with additional rehearsals scheduled closer to performance dates to ensure a polished, professional-quality production. From the first read-through to the final bow, students will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of theatre, building confidence, teamwork, and stage presence along the way.
If you're ready to step into the spotlight and be part of an exciting, high-quality theatre production, our Production Classes are the perfect opportunity to shine!

We offer all of our new students a 2 week free drama trial. We think it is very important that our new students are given the chance to experience what goes on here at Glasgow Acting Academy. Throughout those 2 weeks the student on trial will get to experience what goes on in a normal class. They will be treated like a regular student, although if they don’t feel comfortable or confident enough to take part, then they are more than welcome just to watch. We never ask our students to do anything that we ourselves would not.
