  • Georgia Porter

    General Manager/Executive Producer

    Georgia (she/her) joined the team at Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO in 2022 and has since played a key role in the organisation’s growth across producing, communications, fundraising and arts administration. In 2026, she stepped into the role of General Manager, overseeing the day-to-day running and strategic development of the academy.

    With a lifelong passion for the arts, Georgia has immersed herself in theatre from a young age and now works across Scotland’s arts sector as a producer, fundraiser and creative administrator. Alongside her role at GAA, she works freelance with creatives, festivals and arts organisations across Scotland.

    Georgia is passionate about creating supportive, ambitious and accessible creative spaces where young people can thrive both artistically and personally.

  • Steve Lauder Russell

    Artistic Director and Tutor

    Steve is the Artistic Director at Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO, where he leads the academy’s senior acting training and productions. Having been part of GAA for over ten years, Steve has become a hugely influential figure within the organisation, known for his energetic ensemble-led approach and passion for physical storytelling.

    Alongside his work at GAA, Steve works freelance across Scotland as a director, facilitator, movement director and performer. Recent professional credits include Water Colour (Pitlochry Festival Theatre/Byre Theatre) and Wallace (Raw Material Arts), alongside a wide range of work creating theatre with young people and emerging artists. He holds a BA (Hons) in Acting from Motherwell College.

    Steve is also the founder of Jump: Physical Theatre, a Glasgow-based movement theatre company and creative hub which produces original short films and delivers sold-out workshops focused on physical performance and collaboration.

    Passionate about bold, imaginative and actor-led theatre-making, Steve encourages young performers to take creative risks, work collaboratively and discover confidence in their own artistic voice.

  • Madeline Grieve

    Creative Director and Tutor

    Maddie is the Creative Director at Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO and has been part of the GAA team for many years, where she leads the academy’s junior training and productions. Passionate about helping young people grow in confidence and creativity, she is known for her warm, supportive teaching style and her ability to encourage students to take bold creative risks.

    Alongside her work at GAA, Maddie works professionally across theatre, television and directing. Recent acting credits include “Stand and Deliver” (Tron Theatre/National Theatre of Scotland), and “Councils” (BBC Scotland). She recently directed “One Man, Two Guvnors” at the Pantheon Club, Glasgow, and continues to develop her own creative practice across performance and directing.

    Maddie also runs Acting With Maddie, offering one-to-one acting coaching for young performers and emerging artists, supporting students with audition preparation, confidence building and performance technique.

    Deeply passionate about accessible arts education, Maddie believes theatre should be a space where young people feel safe to explore, collaborate and fully express themselves creatively.

    “Watching our students grow in confidence and find their voice - both onstage and off - is the most rewarding part of my job. GAA is such a special place to create in, and I feel incredibly lucky to help shape the next generation of storytellers.”

  • Amy Brennan-Clark

    Creative Operations and Communications Assistant

    Amy Brennan-Clark is an actor and creative from Glasgow. She graduated from New College Lanarkshire with a BA Honours in Acting & Creative Enterprise. Amy is a company director of Cuttin’ Aboot Theatre Co. in which she has produced, directed and performed for. She also writes and performs spoken word in duo, Two Mics Please. As well as this, she is a member of the Wonder Fools Youth Board for their ‘Positive Stories for Negative Times’ festival.

    Having studied at GAA for over ten years whilst growing up, Amy is absolutely thrilled to now be working at GAA and champion all of the talent that is nurtured here.

  • Rachel Campbell

    Musical Director and Musical Theatre Tutor

    Rachel graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Musical Theatre from Motherwell College and has since built an exciting career as a performer, vocal coach and educator.

    Her professional performing credits include The Snow Queen (Perth Theatre) and Rollers Forever (Pavilion Theatre Glasgow). Rachel also spent seven months performing at Hong Kong Disneyland as a vocalist in “Mickey and the Wondrous Book”, where she played beloved Disney Princesses Elsa and Rapunzel.

    Alongside her work at Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO, Rachel works freelance across a range of further education institutions and arts organisations throughout Scotland. She is also an experienced vocal coach, offering singing and piano lessons to children, young people and adults, supporting performers in developing both confidence and technique.

    Passionate about musical theatre training and performance, Rachel loves helping young people discover their voice, grow in confidence and develop their own unique performance style.

  • Emma McDougall

    Musical Theatre Tutor

    During her younger years Emma gained work in Film, TV and Theatre, and she was lucky enough to be involved with projects led by the BBC, Peter Mullan and Bill Kenwright. Emma then went on to train at Motherwell College where she earned her Higher National Diploma in Musical Theatre and BA Hons Degree in Acting and Performance. After graduating, Emma started her own theatre company ‘Kapow Theatre Scotland’ which produces children’s theatre and pantomimes. Emma now spends her time as a freelance performer, director and performing arts coach.

    As an alumni of Glasgow Acting Academy, Emma is thrilled to be back as our Junior Musical Theatre Tutor and joining our incredible team.

  • Samantha Baird

    Dance Tutor

    Sam is an actor, dancer and choreographer, recently graduating from New College Lanarkshire in BA Musical Theatre. Samantha attended Glasgow Acting Academy from 14. She is a founding member of Cuttin’ Aboot Theatre Co, along with other GAA alumni. With the company she was choreographer for ‘The Caravel’ by Milly Sweeney, performed in Glasgow and at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and also been an actor in multiple of their productions, most recently, ‘The Best Time to be a Teenager’ by Bronagh Docherty.

    She has choreographed for the past year at Glasgow Acting Academy and most recent performance credits include Fairy Godmother and Posion Ivy with SLLC Pantomimes, ensemble for Frantic Assembly’s Ignition program and Logainne Swartsandgrubiner in ‘The 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’.

  • Bethany Tennick

    Musical Theatre Tutor

    Bethany (they/she) trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Theatre credits include; ‘Brigadoon’ Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre (Dir. Drew MacOnie), ‘A Mother’s Song’ Macrobert Arts Centre (Dir. Tania Azevedo), ‘Babs’ A Play, a Pie, and a Pint (Dir. Beth Morton), ’Hysterica’ (workshop) Capital Theatres / Pitlochry Festival Theatre (Dir. Iona Ramsay). Bethany also originated the role of Eilidh in ‘Islander’, taking the show from the first tour of the Scottish Highlands to Fringe, off-West End, and off-Broadway. They also write music and lyrics, usually with their writing partner Iona Ramsay. Their joint ventures include LAND (Fringe 2022), Welcome to Serene (New Musical Theatre Writing Award winner 2024), Hysterica (developed with Pitlochry and Capitol Theatres 2024), and Scotland’s first Snappy Opera (Magohany Opera 2025). 

    Bethany also wrote music for Babs (A Play, a Pie, and a Pint 2023), Antigone (for Perth Theatre 2024), and Frankie Stein (Stellar Quines 2025), and their debut solo play ‘Outskirts’ premiered in 2026 at ‘A Play, A Pie, and A Pint’, directed by Steven Lauder-Russell.

  • Bronagh Docherty

    Assistant/Cover Tutor

    Bronagh first joined Glasgow Acting Academy SCIO as a student in 2010 and has remained a hugely valued part of the GAA community ever since. After years of performing in classes and productions at the academy, she went on to graduate with a BA in Acting from New College Lanarkshire.

    Alongside her work at GAA, Bronagh works as a drama tutor across a range of arts organisations throughout Glasgow, delivering creative workshops and theatre projects for young people. She is also one of the founding members of Cuttin’ Aboot Theatre Co., developing new Scottish theatre and original creative work.

    As well as performing and teaching, Bronagh is a writer and has written many of the productions performed by GAA’s junior students, including ‘Good Luck Puck’ and the academy’s recent pantomime ‘Cinderella’.

    Passionate about storytelling and accessible theatre-making, she loves creating work that allows young performers to build confidence, creativity and joy through performance.

  • Kady Smith

    Assistant/Cover Tutor

    Kady Smith is a performer based in Glasgow. She recently got her BA in Musical Theatre from Queen Margaret University and is currently completing her honours degree. Kady started attending GAA at the age of 11 and has thoroughly enjoyed the past few years covering classes, as well as assistant directing pantomimes and summer musical productions.

    Her recent performance credits include The Little Iceberg (Storyteller), Mother’s Day Brunch (Vocalist), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Olive Ostrovsky), and The Addams Family(Pugsley/Ensemble).

  • Evan Elliott

    Assistant/Cover Tutor

    Evan Elliott is an actor/musician based in Glasgow. He has a BA in musical theatre from New College Lanarkshire and is currently studying for his BA(Hons) there as well. Evan started his GAA journey as a student at the age of 9 and has been an assistant tutor/director for the last 4 years. Alongside this, Evan also handles the a lot of sound tech for the gaa, having a background in music tech & songwriting he helps with vocals, lyrics, tracks, microphones and SFX for productions. Evan is also a songwriter for musical theatre and personal tracks, he and his close friend have founded a music writing duo known as DUOLOGUE. DUOLOGUE have already written 2 summer schools for GAA and hope to take their writing all across Scotland.

    His credits include: Assistant Director for Urinetown (NewClanArts), The magic tree fae miles away & Good Luck Puck (GAA), Storyteller in The Little Iceberg Musical (Anam Alba & Cumbernauld Lanternhouse).  Dame Gepetto in Pinocchio (Geezabreak Productions). Vocalist In The Stars of Tomorrow do Dream Roles (The Other Palace, London. Sanderson and Rattray). Songwriter in Loud & Proud (Pitlochry Festival Theatre & Prime Theatre).

  • Fallon Docherty

    Assistant/Cover Tutor

    Having attended the Glasgow Acting Academy since they were six, Fallon finds great joy in helping to build the confidence of the young actors at GAA and guiding them through productions each year. Fallon writes GAA’s pantomime each year with their sister and has been the assistant director for the 14-18 production for the past three years. Recently they directed at Dundee Rep's “Rep Stripped” Festival.

    They attended New College Lanarkshire, where they gained their HND in Acting and have since been a co-founder of Cuttin’ Aboot Theatre Co, a theatre company that aims to bring authentic Glaswegian stories to the stage. With a passion for youth theatre and a desire to make the performing arts accessible to all, Fallon is excited to be on Bath Street with the Glasgow Acting academy.

  • Ryan Little

    Chairman

    Ryan is a former student of GAA who has performed in over 24 shows, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh. During his time at the academy, he was elected the first student representative, which is an effective way for students to express their ideas and feelings towards their experience here.

    On top of his theatre experience at the academy, Ryan also starred in BAFTA winning Scottish short film, Grimm Street and was also the voice of UNICEF's online learning resources. Ryan graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Modern languages at the University of Strathclyde, and works with the civil and diplomatic services.
